The 20th Public Relations World Congress (PRWC), taking place for the first time in the Middle East from March 13-15 at the Grand Hyatt Dubai, will feature two workshops on evolving trends and industry best practices, hosted in partnership with UK-based Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA).

The UAE's Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been appointed as Chairman of the National Media Council. The position was previously held by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan. The decision to appoint Sheikh Abdullah was made during a Cabinet meeting at the presidential palace chaired by Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Nielsen has announced the roll out of three key improvements for the Internet Audience Measurement solution. The improved service will be starting July 1st, allowing more targeted planning of online video advertising, and providing better ROI for the Advertisers. Those new improvements will be available on the standard Market Intelligence interface.

WAM - Emirates News Agency has reported that during a meeting held at the Internet City in Dubai, the National Media Council and Google have gathered to discuss ways of cooperation in regulating the media sector. The two sides discussed coordination between them in the field of legislation pertaining to the internet and electronic publishing and decided to continue cooperation within this framework.
Top officials at the media free zones in the country voiced today their full support for the UAE's TV audience measurement initiative. They expressed their support during a meeting held today between officials from the National Media Council (NMC), the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and directors of the media free zones.
