Global online social portal Netlog is expanding its presence into the United Arab Emirates to better support its Emirati members, according to the Gulf News. By summer’s end, Belgium-based Netlog will open a new team office in Dubai after in-house research confirmed high Emirati online interest since the all-Arabic version of this social site was launched in late 2008.

According to The National, Effective Measure and Nielsen are battling to be the dominant online audience measurement service in the Middle East, with each company releasing a client list following Nielsen's recent entry into the Middle East. Industry leaders, such as Dimitri Metaxas, want to help resolve this situation.
