The Press Club de France called for Sharjah Media Centre (SMC) to join the International Association of Press Clubs, taking into consideration its overarching role as the communications arm of the government of Sharjah and its ambitious efforts to serve the media sector in the region and the world at large.

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, emphasized on Sharjah Media Centre's key role in promoting the presence of media in the emirate, supporting Arab and foreign media, and acting as a bridge for positive communication in order to achieve the emirate's cultural and media vision.

The first Government Communication Forum to be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, will seek to benchmark the emirate's government communication standards against global best practices and examine ways for infusing fresh methodologies into the communication mechanism among government departments in Sharjah.
