Search engines and social networks critical for building one’s identity

Business 24|7 reports that according to a global report by Pew Research Centre titled “Reputation Management and Social Media”, social networking users aged 18-29 have changed their privacy settings to limit what information is shared with others. The study reveals that online reputation-monitoring via search engines has increased – 57 per cent of adult internet users now use search engines to find information about themselves, up from 47 per cent in 2006.
