Job Description
Direct and oversee strategy for internal and external communication, ensure that communications and public relations functions reflect the strategic direction of ADEC, make recommendations on communications, PR and media initiatives with other government entities. Supervise the development of ADEC-wide communication products and quality assure all services and work products delivered meet established policies and procedures. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of communication in meeting established goals and objectives.
Skills
Extensive experience required as communications and public relations managers preferably in the educational sector.
Good knowledge of public relations strategy, media and publicity handling with advanced skills in Project Management, Team Management and Development, Strategic Planning and Change Management is required. Preference will be given to bilingual (English & Arabic).
Education
At least Masters degree as a minimum in the Marketing and Communications discipline.

1. Principal accountabilities-Specific Functions
Media Management
* Develop and maintain relationships with relevant journalists
* Develop and implement PR strategies targeting centre and corporate PR opportunities
* Prepare media releases, holding statements, briefing strategies, key messages, Q and A packs and media kits as required.
* Manage ‘media crisis’ situations and where necessary involve/manage PR consultancy
* Assist centre teams in developing and implementing media strategies relating to centre issues.
Management of the annual PR plan in consultation with the PR agency including
* Manage all public relations activities on a day-to-day basis according to the agreed plan
* Dealing with both corporate and project specific PR
* Liaison with Corporate Communications and Marketing
* Organising press events, conducting media & industry specific site tours
* Following up with agency for media coverage reports
* Regular evaluation reports of PR results from relevant campaigns
* Adhoc requests for information and images
* Organising internal staff interviews with media
* Reporting on monthly basis
* Management of Internal Communications including:
* Liaison with relevant project Marketing Managers in terms of joint communications
* Managing, writing and obtaining signed approval for required internal communications
* Develop and communicate internal briefing kits where required
Communications Strategy Development, Implementation & Support:
· Assist with production of all material necessary for strategy implementation targeting B2B and B2C
· Develop and roll out necessary materials
· Participate in strategy development forums as required
· Develop communications strategies for retail projects targeting relevant stakeholders.
· Provide communications advice as required.
· Represent ‘communications’ voice.
· Assist senior team in the preparation of various business communications
2. Qualifications & Experience
· Degree educated (preferably business/marketing/communications)
· 8 years marketing/communications/public relations experience
· Previous marketing experience preferably in a retail or property environment.
