Public Relations Manager– Airline Industry

This is a key role for a leading global provider of online travel services. This position provides leadership for the company’s external communications in the Middle East in line with corporate priorities and full support of regional objectives. The primary goal is to achieve this through media and public relations activities.
Requirements
This role also provides leadership and support in the delivery of global PR objectives related to the company’s commercial priorities and strategic initiatives. You should have a minimum 5 years PR management experience in house or with an agency, extensive Middle East experience is a must preferably in the context of a global organization, airline experience with empathy for the travel industry and B to B market place would be seen as an advantage.
This is a senior level position and as such you should be able to operate at a senior level with previous proof of the ability to plan manage and develop corporate brand and public relations programs that employ creativity and use of a variety of tools forums and media, you should also have proven crisis management experience. Intellectually bright you must also be a strong team player and self driven with an innovative and creative flair for spotting unique solutions.

Job Description
Key Function:
The Public Relations Manager has a wide ranging brief which evolves rapidly to meet changes in the focus and positioning of OSN in the market. Most importantly, the Public Relations Manager should intuitively interpret company developments and subsequently devise and communicate simple and consistent messages to a wide range of publics, including regional consumer and international trade media, consumers, internal staff throughout the OSN offices, agencies and distributors.
Close liaison with various internal stakeholders is essential to ensure consistency of message through all media. While the primary focus of the role is media communications, the Public Relations Manager also has an important role in the development of TV Guide, an OSN publication which communicates about OSN programming to its subscribers.
The Public Relations Manager is also tasked with the role of devising and deploying OSN’s CSR strategy in MEA.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Develop OSN communication strategy based on clear understanding of organizational objectives, content priorities and customers segments.
•Devising and communicating OSN’s corporate and product (programming) messages to the regional consumer media, specialist magazines, the international cable, satellite and broadcast trade media (and financial media).
•Providing editorial content for the monthly OSN TV Guide, website and e-zine.
•Managing the public perception of OSN in the media.
•Preparing monthly programming highlights packages (in English and Arabic) and ensuring timely distribution to the media.
•In conjunction with the OSN Media Buying Manager, negotiate greater penetration of OSN listings in daily/weekly/monthly publications using OSN’s advertising spend as leverage.
•Directing activities of OSN’s retained public relations consultancy.
•Monitoring of international digital in-home entertainment developments and, in conjunction with OSN’s sister companies, owners and strategic allies, maximize opportunities to position OSN as the regional, digital convergence leader.
•Develop, lead and deploy OSN CSR strategy and action plans
Skills
•Outgoing, forward looking, creative individual who communicates easily and clearly with all
•At least ten years senior public relations/journalism experience in a multi-cultural, multi-national environment
•Creative writing skills are essential to be able to deliver engaging materials for TV Guide
•Possess impeccable English language skills and excellent presentation skills. Being bilingual will be advantageous.
•A solid track record of high-profile media communications experience - both press and broadcast is a must.
•An appreciation of deadlines, an attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-moving environment are expected.
•Deep understanding of PR in digital (online) environment is important.
•Empathy with the rapid changes taking place in the digital in-home entertainment arena and intuitively appreciates the impact they will have in the near future.
