eBook sales quadruple in 2011

According to The Publishers Association in the UK, eBook sales increased by 366% in 2011. The Association has noted that all digital formats, including eBooks, audio book downloads and online subscriptions, accounted for eight per cent of the total value of book sales last year. This figure has increased considerably from 5% in 2010. However, the total value of books sales, both digital and printed, fell slightly by 2% to £3.2 billion, while the price of the average book fell by 1.3%.

Magazine Advertising Sales Manager Advertising sales for food and lifestyle magazines. Responsibilities include selling ad 'space' in magazines,  proactively network and seek opportunities to sell ads, developing a mix of new customers and existing key, working towards a revenue target and generating advertising sales revenues.Must be able to expand existing relationships and identify opportunities for ad sales growth as well as identify and close on new advertising opportunities. Candidates should be comfortable assisting clients in creating multi-faceted advertising strategies that showcase their product in our magazines and websites.

Desired Skills & Experience

Must be an energetic self-motivator, have strong work ethic, be very results-driven, confident, and be a master communicator who is persuasive by telephone, e-mail and in person. He/she needs to be professional, courteous and understand the brands' demographic, as well as how to explain how advertising with the company will benefit a potential client. She also needs to be organized in order to manage her accounts. Must be able to work towards targets and within tight deadlines.

Minimum of 3 years sales experience.

• Aggressively prospect and pre-qualify leads through effective interaction with key decision makers throughout the client organization. 
 
• Employ a persistent, persuasive and aggressive approach in developing and working through a sizable lead database. 
 
• Responsible for generating and contacting prospects for ERP Accounting software in mid-market organizations within the Manufacturing, Distribution and Service verticals.

According to Tech Fortune, Apple sold 11 million iPads in the first quarter of 2012. However, estimates of sales according to different analysts vary from 9 to 15.6 million. The new iPad alone reportedly sold 3 million units in its debut weekend. The aggressive rollout that followed pushed the third generation iPad to 35 national markets in two weeks.
