Abu Dhabi TV Network announced today the launch of a new value Family Package, offering viewers HD channels from MBC and FOX in addition to Abu Dhabi Sport 7 and 8. The new package gives viewers access to HD content featuring sports, movies, series, documentaries and news.

Sky News launches high definition channel on OSN

Arabian Business reports that Sky News has launched a new high definition news channel on Orbit Showtime, the pay TV provider has announced. Content on the channel will include live video feeds from breaking stories and real-time analysis from Sky News specialist correspondents. All 75 channels on Orbit Showtime Network (OSN) will be in high-definition by the end of 2012, the company's CEO and president said last month.


BSkyB in Talks on Arabic service broadcast

Financial Times has reported that British Sky Broadcasting is in talks to broadcast a 24-hour rolling news service in Arabic, based in Abu Dhabi, as part of a joint-venture with a local private investor. Entering a highly competitive market, the satellite channel would launch under the Sky News name and be the UK broadcaster's first venture into a territory outside the UK.
