In a spectacular start to the year, Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) not only earned the title ‘Media Agency of the Year’ at the recent MENA Cristal Awards, but continued to lead the way with stunning success at the Dubai Lynx Awards to become the most awarded media agency in the region.

In a phenomenal start to 2012 Starcom Mediavest Group (SMG) won 4 Cristal Awards at this year’s ceremony, becoming the most awarded media agency of the year. SMG was also named media agency of the year on the back of one of the most challenging years for the industry.

SMG announces two senior leadership appointments in MENA. Philip Jabbour to take the helm as CEO of SMG MENA. Tarek Daouk is promoted to the newly created role of Chief Innovation and Integration Officer. Both appointments are effective January 1st, 2011.
Following a competitive four-way pitch, GlaxoSmithKline has appointed Starcom MediaVest Group MENA to handle region-wide media strategy, planning and buying for its products sold in markets across the Middle East.
