According to a survey by "Facebakers", 36 per cent of the UAE’s population are registered Facebook users, putting it 17th in the global rankings. Facebook was also popular in Qatar with 29 per cent penetration. Out of the 1,600,000 users registered across the UAE, 63 percent are male and 37 percent are female.
