Zawya has officially unveiled its redesigned website sporting its new brand identity. The transformation is a direct result of the continued growth experienced by the company, and its goal to broaden its reach to a global level. As part of the rebranding initiative, Zawya has launched a new logo, a corporate identity program, and a completely revamped web presence at Zawya.com.

According to AFP around 200 Arabian bloggers involved in cyber activism will be gathering in Tunis to discuss the role of social networking and the internet in terms of political change and transition following the ‘Arab Spring’. The meeting is the third of its kind in the Arab world, following gatherings in Beirut in 2008 and 2009.

An AFP report has stated that Wael Ghonim, the Google executive who has become a hero of Egypt's anti-government uprising, will be writing a book, “Revolution 2.0”, on how the revolution came about with the power of social media and Internet technology. Revolution 2.0 will be published on January 25, the first anniversary of the uprising.



Zawya reports that Morocco has suspended the operation of Al Jazeera news channel and withdrew the accreditations of its staff. According to AFP, a government official who declined to be named said the authorities took exception "to the way Al Jazeera handles the issues of Islamists and Western Sahara.” The Al Jazeera bureau chief in Rabat, Abdelkader Kharroubi, told AFP that the channel "has always respected the rule of professionalism and neutrality, particularly in Morocco."
