The launch of mediaME.com, the world's first user generated content portal for advertising and media professionals, has been announced.
mediaME aims to serve the marketing communications industry in the Middle East with a platform to exchange news, information, opinion and expertise.
'We believe there is a gap right now in online information and communication regarding the region's advertising, marketing and public relations industries,' said mediaME founder Zeid Nasser.
'That's why we're providing a platform that will allow creatives and marketers in the Middle East to build and share resources and exchange information using the tools that are driving the Web 2.0 revolution.'
Fusing together these revolutionary user-generated tools with the growing levels of Internet penetration in the region's advertising industries, mediaME delivers an advanced platform for news, jobs, event information, media rates information, company directories, blogs, and more.
Bringing it all together in one place has created the definitive advertising-media-marketing platform for the Middle East's professionals. Developed on a Drupal open source platform, mediaME is 'Web 2.0 ready', enabling users to upload 'rich' information, share and interact.
mediaME provides daily industry news (opinions of users/bloggers, exclusive interviews and press releases), a job section that is open to all marcom employers, a media rates section that provides downloadable rates cards, a creative gallery already full of work from across the region, upcoming media and advertising event information and a full company directory. And it's all free!
"Our aim is for mediaME to become the 'morning coffee' site for every professional in the region, in addition to providing the forum to unleash issues not normally covered by other sources. You could call it a marketplace of ideas and resources," said Nasser.
Most sections on mediaME are 'firsts', such as the Media Rates section which is the only resource to offer downloadable rate cards of Middle Eastern newspapers, magazines, TV stations, outdoor companies and more. There are other firsts such as the Blog Aggregator which pulls daily feeds from advertising professional's blogs and discussions across the region. The site also features a regularly updated creative gallery, which showcases the best work from the region's agencies.
"At the end of the day, users need to find the site to be a useful resource. Whether they're just seeking a piece of information such as a job posting or an entry in the company directory, or whether they want to start a conversation about a new campaign or an issue in the industry, mediaME provides a platform for the entire industry,' said Nasser.
